Easter Tulip Peep

I could hardly wait to share my newest Easter card with you today!  I was feeling a little silly last night and thought I would combine two Easter card ideas I have recently run across online.  The Easter theme works perfectly with a new challenge site I came across today...Hand Stamped Sentiments.

I'm sure many of you have seen the cards with the three cracked eggs across the front and the little peeps sticking out of each ( Stamp with Tami - video and Flowerbug's Inkspot).  Well in the past I have also seen tulips with Easter eggs in the center.  You can find a video on Valita's incredible blog. So...I thought how cute and silly it would be to combine the two and this is what I came up with.  My children are fully grown now but I know that they would have loved this when they were little.  Isn't it cute!  Makes me smile. :)

There are several punches involved in this card.  Can you guess which ones?  Punches are so much fun and there are so many creative ways to use them.  Someone is always thinking up one more idea to share.  You could spend days online looking at all the examples.  All kinds of animals and flowers...it's amazing!

What I love is that not only does Stampin' Up! have a great selection of punches but it's difficult to come close to the quality.  And now with the new design they store so well.

So have you guessed yet?  Do you have your answers locked in?  The tulip petals were created with the Owl Punch and and the leaves with a large Circle Punch.  I used the 1-3/4" circle but you could use the larger 2-1/2". The egg is punched with the Extra-Large Oval Punch and the peep is the body of the Bird Builder Punch.  And I almost forgot, The Scallop Edge Border Punch was used for the grass.

The colors used are So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, and DSP from the brights collection for the egg.  And yes...that is the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder again. :)

Only a few days left and Sale-a-bration will be over until next year!  A free product for every $50 you spend during this promotion.  What a great time to add to your punch collection or stock up on paper or cross items off your wish list.  Order online Here or email your order to me and I will place it for you.

Easy Events Wedding Shower Card

It's Sunday and I have a long day ahead of me.  I play in the orchestra at First Baptist Ellijay and we are preparing for our Passion Play.  It's a lot of work but well worth the effort.  If you're local and would like to attend the dates are March 30, 31 and April 1.  Let me know - I will be happy to make sure you have tickets.  The price is great - free!

Today is a quick and easy card.  Mother is heading to a wedding shower right after church and asked if I would make her a card to put with her gift. Now...how can you say no to your mother.

I have several new recruits and a few others thinking about purchasing the Starter Kit so I wanted to show how you can take the Easy Events (C123225) (W116958) stamp set and other items from the kit and make a cute but simple card.  Something that you could easily do at a workshop or party. Or just because you need a quick card.

I bumped it up just a bit from the items in the starter kit by using the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder (117335) and the Big Shot (113439).  Of course I know that every card maker  and scrapbooker will have the Big Shot on their wish list sooner or later.  I also used the 5/8" Organza Ribbon (114319) instead of the Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon that comes in the kit just because it's one of mother's favorites.  An inexpensive pack of Stampin' Up!'s Basic Pearls (119247) and you are all set.  Wasn't that easy?  My basic card making class is this Monday the 19th at 6:30pm.  We will be learning how to plan and cut a simple card like this along with basic stamping and card making skills.  I'm hoping to post some of the material for this class here on my blog for those of you that are beginners.  The class may be showing closed now but if you would like to attend give me a call.

There are two weeks left to purchase the Starter Kit at the Sale-a-bration promotional price of $125.  It's a great time to join my team.  I would cherish the opportunity to support you whether you join to become a full time demonstrator or only to receive a discount on your products or any level in-between.

During Sale-a-bration for every $50 you purchase you receive a free product from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  Time is running out.  Don't delay!  I have a few dates open in the next two weeks for those of you that would like to book a party and take advantage of the freebies during this promotion.

Have a happy Sunday!

Fancy Flower Mother's Day Purse

Posting really late today because my husband decided that there would be no stamping, blogging, or creating of any kind today.  He felt we needed together time.  :)  I couldn't say no...he is so patient and supportive of my Stampin' Up! business.  We took a drive in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains and ended up in Dahlonega for lunch and some shopping.  It was a great day!

This month my club members made the purse featured in the Easter blog hop.  Only this time it was decorated with a cute embossed flower. I think now it would make a perfect little purse for Mother's Day. Don't you agree? How about a gift card and small chocolate candy bar on the inside?

For the dimensions and scoring of the card stock refer to the Easter Blog Hop post.  While you're there join in the fun! Hop from blog to blog making a comment at each one and you will automatically be entered to win a fabulous prize of Stampin' Up! products.

The Fancy Flower, 5-Petal Flower, and Boho Blossom Punches were used to create the flower.  Before assembling I ran them through the Finial Press Embossing folder for texture.  I think the buttons from the Twitterpated Suite in the Occasions Mini are so cute.  Though the color is Baja Breeze they still blended well with the Pool Party card stock.  If you decide to make one or more of the purses for Easter or Mother's Day I  would love to see how you decorate them.  Email me with a picture or a link to your blog.

Hope to see you tomorrow.

Mixed Bunch Love Notes

Oh my gosh... how I have missed sharing the past couple of days.  I have been busy with clubs, a workshop, and an awesome day Saturday at a My Digital Studio retreat followed by our demo PAWS (play alot with stamps) meeting.  It's so much fun being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator !

Today I would like to share one of the make and takes we did at the PAWS meeting.  I know many of you have already purchased the Mixed Bunch stamp set ( C125537,W125535) and are asking to see more projects using it.  This one is a "bunch" of love notes (3" by 3" cards) using the newest In Colors all "mixed" up.

Cindy Shuster is the demo that designed this make and take.  She was able to take a pack of the assorted In Color card stock, coordinating ink, and brads and come up with dozens of these cute little cards. The coordinating Blossom Punch (125603) makes mass producing these notes quick and easy!

The sentiment on each card is different.  The Fabulous Phrases (120501) stamp set has 30 words that you can use separately or group together.  It's a set I go to often.  On the inside we actually used a business stamp set  for demos but with Stampin' Up! the possibilities for sentiments on the inside are endless! Wouldn't you love to have a bunch of these love notes on hand?  Use them for birthdays, get well, or just I'm thinking of you today.

How many of you have a stash of cards to choose from when you need one? Or do you rush around at the last minute making a card before you walk out the door?  I know...I've been there. :)

Before I leave you today I would like to remind you that the Hoppers are giving away a blog gift on Easter Sunday.  All you need to do is visit each blog and leave a comment to be entered.  We would love for you to play along. Check it out HERE.

And over the next couple of days I will be sharing some of my swaps from the PAWS meeting.  Today's share was made by Anne Arnold and I have to say it was one of my favorites.  She doesn't have a blog right now so I'm sorry that I can't direct you to other samples of her work.

She used the KISS technique with this card.  The two stamps that she kissed together are Inspired by Nature and Weathered.  Sorry to say I don't have the Weathered stamp and it's retired. :(
I'm thinking that maybe the Wonderfully Worn background stamp may create an interesting effect.  Have you tried this technique and do you have another suggestion of a stamp to use with Inspired by Nature?

Remember that Sale-a-bration ends on March 31.  Every $50 you order earns you a free product from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  It's a great time to stock up on products!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

Fresh Vintage in Black and White

Hi Everyone!

Today I want to share a simple but elegant card with you.  It's one of three projects we did on Sunday at Joyce's workshop.  I thought it would be a perfect card for some of the gals that were new to stamping.  It's a black and white card using the Fresh Vintage stamp set and our basic black and very vanilla card stock.

Black and white is a perfect combination when you want to have an elegant, sophisticated look.  The dotted embossing folder and rhinestone bling take a plain card to a new level.  I always love to watch new stampers when they use the Big Shot and an embossing folder for the first time.  The dotted folder is one of my favorites.  So do you have a favorite embossing folder?  Leave a comment...it makes my day.

Stamping the inside of the card makes it extra special.

The stamp set, Fresh Vintage, is one of the products you can receive free during Sale-a-bration.  One free product from the Sale-a-bration catalog for every $50 you spend.  It's a perfect time to schedule a workshop or private class.  The promotion ends March 31 so don't wait.  Call or email me today to schedule.

Stamp Sets: Fresh Vintage (SAB) (C125117) (W125115), Thank You Kindly (W111700)
Ink: Basic Black (101179)
Cardstock: Very Vanilla (101650), Basic Black (121045)
Tools and Accessories: Big Shot (113439), Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (117335), Basic Rhinestones (119246)

Everyday Enchantment 3 x 3 Post It Note Holder

My project today is a cute 3x3 Post It Note Holder.  Perfect when you need a little gift.  Who doesn't use Post It Notes?  The colors are Pool Party and Lucky Limeade with the Everyday Enchantment DSP used in the flower.

  • The Lucky Limeade Base is 3-1/4" x 6-5/8" - Scored at 3-1/8" from each end or if you have a Simply Scored Scoring Tool score at 3-1/8" and 3-1/2".
  • The Very Vanilla and Pool Party strips are 1-1/2" and 7/8"wide by 3-1/4".
  • I used the 5-Petal Flower Punch for the flower.  It's a great punch to have in your "tool shed".  Same for the Scallop Trim Border Punch.
  • I die cut a small button in Lucky Limeade to put behind the clear Bitty Button.
  • The flower petals were sponged with Crumb Cake Ink for added dimension.

Stamp Set:  You're My Type (125650)
Ink:  Chocolate Chip (100908), Crumb Cake (121030)
Paper:  Everyday Enchantment DSP (126154-SAB), Lucky Limeade (122926), Pool Party (122924), Very Vanilla (101650)

Vintage Flap Card

As promised, here is the swap card I made for my downline meeting.  Right now we are meeting every other month to share and be inspired.  I wanted to work on a vintage looking card  so I went straight for "my favorite" designer series paper.  Everyday Enchantment DSP is a beautifully designed paper with some of the greatest patterns.  If this paper is on your wish list remember it's free when you place a $50 order during Sale-a-bration.  You have until the end of March.

I used a CD to round the flap.  Placed it 1 1/2 inches from the top, traced, and cut by hand.  Lots of sponging with Crumb Cake ink.

When you lift the flap you find yet another coordinating paper.  Did I tell you how much I love this paper. :)  I didn't stamp the inside.  That way my downline and I could stamp the sentiment we wanted when we decide to send the card.

Stamp Set: Fresh Vintage (C125117), (W125115), Loving Thoughts (C125845), (W125843)
Paper: Everyday Enchantment DSP (126154), Lucky Limeade ( 122926), Very Vanilla (101650)
Ink: Chocolate Chip (100908), Crumb Cake (121030)
Accessories: Blossom Punch (125603), Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch (122464), Designer Printed Brads (122940), Big Shot (113439), Stamping Sponges (101610), Dimensionals (104430

I'm having lunch and seeing The Vow today with a very special friend.  I know I'm going to have a wonderful day!  Hope you have a great one too.

Swaps - PAWS Meeting

Last Saturday was our PAWS meeting.  Fifteen or so demonstrators get together to do make and takes, swaps, and share.  And...have too much fun!

I wasn't able to be a part of the swap this month but I did get to take pictures.  That's because I knew there were some projects that I needed to share.  Problem is...because I didn't actually swap I don't have the information to tell you who did what swap.  What I can tell you is they are a great group of talented gals.

I love the colors in this card and the way the Edgelits Die was used with the Adorning Accents Embossing Folder.  Also, take a look at the butterfly. After cutting the two petals off to turn the blossom into a butterfly they were added back on to give the bottom wings more dimension.

These pictures were taken in a kitchen with lots of shadows.  I have tried to adjust the shadows out without compromising the colors but it was difficult.  The Everyday Enchantment DSP is my favorite and I wish I had the pleated satin ribbon in every available color.  Better get out my wish list.

Actually I can tell you who created this card because she is my downline...Leishman Williams.  The Mixed Bunch flower is wonderful in these bright colors and I love it backed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing flolder.

This is the Twitterpated DSP teamed up with the Heart Collection Framelits.  Then you add the Adorning Accents embossing folder with the tiny hearts and you fall in love. :)

Have to say this is one is of my favorites.  What do you think of these two colors together? Again it's the Everyday Enchantment DSP.  Are you getting tired of me saying it's my favorite. The buttons were made using a circle punch and Crystal Effects.  I can't wait to make some for one of my next projects.

More of my favorite DSP. :)  My Tea Shoppe stamp set has recently arrived at my house and I can't wait to stamp something for my Red Hat group.  We visit a lot of tea rooms.

Speaking of tea isn't this cute.  Not sure how well you can see but this is a cute box to hold tea bags.  They come out from the bottom.  Makes me wish I was part of the swap.

And lastly...a manly card and you know how most of us struggle when we need to make one of those. :) I think this one is perfect.

There was one more card in the swap made by my friend Fran Kennedy. She was sweet enough to actually give me one of the cards even though I didn't swap.  I still need to take a picture of it to share. You're gonna love it.

Don't forget about the Valentine's blog hop where you could be the lucky winner!

Sprinkled Expressions Flower Power

Such a sweet card using the flower stamp in the Sprinkled Expressions stamp set.  It's one of my favorite sets in the Sale-a-bration Catalog. Do you laugh when I use the word "favorite"?  But I just can't help myself...I have a lot of favorites!

I created this card yesterday during an open stamp time.  One of my downline (hi Leishman) brought a  picture of a card off the internet that she thought she would like to make.  So I decided to cut the parts and let it be their make and take.  I changed it up a bit since I didn't have the embossing folder used in the original but even so it turned out really cute.

After everyone left I decided to do a bit of searching to see if I could find the original.  I am happy to say, in a short amount of time, I found the original on Stampin' Connection and am able to thank Wendy Knowles.

This adorable stamp set is yours free during Sale-a-bration when you make a $50 purchase.  Actually you get a free stamp set for EVERY $50 you spend! And when your order reaches $150 you qualify for hostess gifts.  Before I was a demonstrator this was my favorite Stampin' Up! time of year.  I would always host a party because of all the free stuff.  If you would like to do the same let's have a party with a few of your family and friends at your house or my stamping studio.

P.S. I Love You - Conversation Hearts

Conversation hearts dressed and ready for Valentine's Day.

My January club/class members had fun using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to wrap a box of Sweetheart conversation hearts.  These happen to be my husband's favorite. :)  They found that using the scoring tool makes it easy to cover any size box.  And the scoring markers are a real plus when scoring the same project over and over again.

I thought I would share with you several reasons why Stampin' Up!'s Simply Scored Scoring Tool is my favorite scoring tool.
  • I love the stylus!  It's comfortable in your hand and it easily slips down the paper without slipping out of the grooves.  It doesn't flatten or wear out.  And I never lose it because it snaps tightly on the top of the tool.
  • The markers - They make it easy to score a project over and over again without having to think about it.
  • The hidden storage compartment - A place to store the markers and additional scoring tools.

And now I can hardly wait to try the new Diagonal Plate that fits right on top of the scoring tool.  It's a new product that will be available March 1st. Great for making envelopes, boxes and more.

Creativity Is Contagious...Pass It On!

This cute card was featured on main stage at the Regional following Leadership.  The quote was created in My Digital Studio and I just love it! That's exactly why I'm a Stampin' Up! demonstrator - so I can "pass it on".

For my local customers I am having an open stamp time this Sunday, January 29th, from 3:00pm to 6:30pm.  One of the ways I can "pass it on". It will be held in my stamp room and you will have access to my stamps, punches, dies, and inks.  Bring your current projects or begin one here. Maybe you have some Valentine cards or treats you are working on.  I will be able to help my beginner stampers with planning and cutting their projects.  And the best part is you will be able to try some of the tools you may not have had a chance to work with yet.  Bring your adhesive, scissors, markers. blender pens etc.. Check my events page for details and RSVP so I know how many to plan for.

The Sale-a-bration catalog has some exciting new stamp sets, designer paper, and accessories.  Below are samples of projects from Leadership and the San Antonio Regional spotlighting these products.  This first one was shared on main stage.  The rest of them are either from swaps or displays.
