Funny Bunny Egg Holder

I remember what fun it was to get ready for Easter when my boys were young.  They loved to color eggs and then place them in the paper egg holders.  Do they still have those now a days?  I haven't colored eggs in years.  Maybe that would be a fun thing to do this year.

So last night I designed a paper egg holder just in case I really do color some eggs.  It would even make a cute place card using a plastic egg...maybe filled with m&ms...my favorite!

I used the Ornament Punch for his head, the blossom Petals Builder Punch for his ears.  His cheeks were punched from the 3/4" Circle Punch, and his nose is the smallest heart from the Heart to Heart Punch.  He's a funny bunny with those eyes and whiskers.  I think I should have practiced the whiskers. lol

The Lucky Limeade layer is a 2" square with a whisper white and then a designer series paper layer.  I then made a band to go around the egg that was 1" by 7" with a cute coordinating button on the side.  (Inspired by Wendy Sue Anderson)

There's lots of different punch art bunnies that would also be cute on this holder.  And how about some cute flowers.  Do you have other ideas you might like to share in a comment?

Before I leave you today I wanted to share a cute Easter card made by one of my downline - Leishman Williams.  This is the swap she created for our last PAWS meeting (cased from Erica Cerwin).  Leishman came to a free class I had at our local library in September.  She mentioned, though she had tried stamping, she just couldn't seem to stamp a nice clear image. Well...by the time she left she made some cute cards with nice clear images and she was hooked!  Now there's no stopping her. lol  

The little bunny is so cute.  It is made using the Large Oval, 1" Round, and 5 Petal Punches.  I love the grass in three colors - created with the Edgelits Die and then embossed with the Adorning Accents Embossing Folder.  The clouds are made with the Cupcake Builder and stamped (nice and clear :)) using the Everybunny stamp set.

Easter Tulip Peep

I could hardly wait to share my newest Easter card with you today!  I was feeling a little silly last night and thought I would combine two Easter card ideas I have recently run across online.  The Easter theme works perfectly with a new challenge site I came across today...Hand Stamped Sentiments.

I'm sure many of you have seen the cards with the three cracked eggs across the front and the little peeps sticking out of each ( Stamp with Tami - video and Flowerbug's Inkspot).  Well in the past I have also seen tulips with Easter eggs in the center.  You can find a video on Valita's incredible blog. So...I thought how cute and silly it would be to combine the two and this is what I came up with.  My children are fully grown now but I know that they would have loved this when they were little.  Isn't it cute!  Makes me smile. :)

There are several punches involved in this card.  Can you guess which ones?  Punches are so much fun and there are so many creative ways to use them.  Someone is always thinking up one more idea to share.  You could spend days online looking at all the examples.  All kinds of animals and flowers...it's amazing!

What I love is that not only does Stampin' Up! have a great selection of punches but it's difficult to come close to the quality.  And now with the new design they store so well.

So have you guessed yet?  Do you have your answers locked in?  The tulip petals were created with the Owl Punch and and the leaves with a large Circle Punch.  I used the 1-3/4" circle but you could use the larger 2-1/2". The egg is punched with the Extra-Large Oval Punch and the peep is the body of the Bird Builder Punch.  And I almost forgot, The Scallop Edge Border Punch was used for the grass.

The colors used are So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, and DSP from the brights collection for the egg.  And yes...that is the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder again. :)

Everybunny Hot Air Balloon

The weather yesterday in the north Georgia Mountains was gorgeous! Almost like a spring day.  It's confusing some of the flowers in the neighborhood but it was a great day to trim back my Knock Out roses.  I was told this was the time of the year to do that.  Hope so...I'm more of a stamper then gardener. :) 

Today's project makes me think of a beautiful spring day...an Easter Day. This little bunny is happily floating along on a gorgeous day spreading lovely flowers all over the land. :)  That reminds me of a game I used to play with my boys where we each added a line to the story.  They used to come up with some pretty strange twists in the story. Sorry...I'm digressing.

Thought this card might work for this week's challenge at The Outlawz if I can find the time to actually post it before they are on to the next challenge.  Come join the fun.

• When you are using layers of the same color on a card it's good to add some texture.  This is easily done with Stampin' Up's many embossing folders.  I find it difficult to even make a card without using my Big Shot to either emboss or die cut.
• Coloring an image can be done many ways.  Today I chose to use my ink pads and a blender pen.  Just squeeze on the ink pad before opening and when you open it there will be enough ink on the inside plastic to use with your blender pens.
• I wanted to have the flowers look like they were actually falling to the ground so I used one of the punches in the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack to add the extra flowers.
