Best of Everything Mini Album

One of my downline cancelled our morning get together because it was supposed to rain today.  But guess what...it is gorgeous here in the North Georgia Mountains.    Several of my club members come north to my classes because it is the opposite direction of all the traffic.  Jasper is such a pretty place to live.  A quiet little town with Christmas tree lights on all the trees on Main Street all year long.  :)

Today I would like to share a Mini Album that I will be making with 15 Girl Scouts this evening in Ellijay, which is another small town about 30 minutes north of me.  It is one that I have shared in the past as a vintage album.  I reworked it for the girls to make it more fun and youthful.

The album is made with Lucky Limeade card stock and some of the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper that I stocked up on during sale-a-bration.  I used the Blossom punch, which is still available in the Occasions Mini Catalog, to make the flower.  On every indentation in the flower I made a cut about 1/2" long.  This gives the flower a lot of dimension and texture.  The Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch makes a nice center for the flower.  And of course we can't forget the bling!
Normally I would have sponged the very vanilla card stock but decided to skip that step with so many girls.

The inside folds out accordion style where the girls will be placing four pictures.  To see how the album looks when it is open CLICK HERE to view the vintage and best friends albums I have done in the past.

I used the fun bird in the Best of Everything stamp set.  I think the girls are going to love this little guy.  They will be able to use the sentiment Memories from Loving Thoughts (in the Occasions Mini) or BBF from Best Friends Forever that is now on the retirement list. :)  Here you can also see how much dimension you get in the flower by making the cuts.

Just a Reminder

You have until April 30 to make purchases from the Occasions Mini.  There will be a few items that will make it into the new catalog in June but most you will not see again.  What's been your favorite stamp set in this mini?  I think mine is the Mixed Bunch.  Or better yet what has been on you're wish list that you still haven't purchased yet.  Order it now while your thinking of it. :)

PS: Remember to check out the Clearance Rack and the Retiring List!

Bordering on Romance Done Softly

It's been a week since I've been able to post and I've sure missed being with you all.  Hope you missed me just a little bit. :)  I could go into a long explanation but I'm afraid it will sound like a lot of excuses so I'm not going to go there.  Just know that I'm glad to be back!

Today I would like to share a soft and pretty thank you card using the stamp set Bordering on Romance.  It's from the Occasions Mini Catalog and I can't believe it's the first time I'm getting to use it.  I love the sweet flowers in this set but what's really fun is the borders that coordinate with the edgelits dies that I didn't actually use in today's card.  I'm saving those for another day. :)

The Stitched-Poly Ribbon is a fun ribbon to work with.  I love the white edges and the feel.  It's available in the 2010 - 2012 In Colors which will only be available until the end of June.  If you haven't ordered this ribbon in the past consider it in your next order.  You won't be disappointed.

The flowers are fussy cut and popped up with dimensionals which makes them feel like they are floating on the embossed layer.  I colored them with ink pads and a blender pen.  And yes...that's the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder again.

For those of you that are local - this is one of the cards that you can choose to make this Thursday at the I Love Cards Buffet.  This class is for beginners or advanced card makers.  You choose what cards and how many of each you would like to make.  What a great way to add to your stash of cards to send to family and friends or to copy over and over again. The fee is $12 for 5 cards or Free with an order of at least $25.  Additional cards are $1.50 each and can be made if time permits. Click Here to register for class.  Even though the time is listed as 6:30pm feel free to arrive 1/2 hour early.

Stamp Sets:  Bordering on Romance (C125482), (W125480), Thank You Kindly (111742 - wood only)
Ink:  So Saffron (105213), Certainly Celery (105217), Blushing Bride (119786)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Isn't Hemmingway cute in his St. Patty's Day photo!  This is Laura's and Matt's (my son) new puppy in a bed of clover.  This is the message I received from him this morning. :)

They're spending the day in Savannah, GA enjoying all the celebrations.  I wonder if they're in this picture.  Apparently Savannah's celebration is as big or bigger then New York's  I just read they are expecting a million people!  I hope they have a safe and fun time.

Today I wanted to share a few note cards we did in club this month. Everyone got a chance to make a few envelopes with the new Diagonal Score Plate.  It's so easy and fun now to make your own envelopes to match your cards.

This first little gift card is done with the Apothecary Art Stamp Set (C125527) (W125525) and the coordinating Labels Collection Framelits Dies (125599).  The glitter was applied with a glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. (102023)  The envelope was made with paper from the Attic Boutique Designer Series paper. (125407)  The size of the card is 2-1/4" square.

This time we used a piece of Old Olive card stock and used the Framelit Die to make a folded tag.  I also wanted to show them how much easier it was to apply the glitter using Stampin' Up!'s Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. (120805)  It will make a great addition to any gift bag.

Lastly I wanted to show them how easy it was to make a little gift card with one layer.  This was stamped with the Clearly for You Stamp Set (C121976) (W121911).  Quickly colored and sponged and you are ready to go.  Tiny Basic Pearls ((119247) add the little extra.

Have you made any envelopes yet with the new diagonal score pad?  Have you tried other sizes besides the standard A2 size?

Have a wonderful day and pull out your stamps tonight!  Hope to see you tomorrow.

Fancy Flower Mother's Day Purse

Posting really late today because my husband decided that there would be no stamping, blogging, or creating of any kind today.  He felt we needed together time.  :)  I couldn't say no...he is so patient and supportive of my Stampin' Up! business.  We took a drive in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains and ended up in Dahlonega for lunch and some shopping.  It was a great day!

This month my club members made the purse featured in the Easter blog hop.  Only this time it was decorated with a cute embossed flower. I think now it would make a perfect little purse for Mother's Day. Don't you agree? How about a gift card and small chocolate candy bar on the inside?

For the dimensions and scoring of the card stock refer to the Easter Blog Hop post.  While you're there join in the fun! Hop from blog to blog making a comment at each one and you will automatically be entered to win a fabulous prize of Stampin' Up! products.

The Fancy Flower, 5-Petal Flower, and Boho Blossom Punches were used to create the flower.  Before assembling I ran them through the Finial Press Embossing folder for texture.  I think the buttons from the Twitterpated Suite in the Occasions Mini are so cute.  Though the color is Baja Breeze they still blended well with the Pool Party card stock.  If you decide to make one or more of the purses for Easter or Mother's Day I  would love to see how you decorate them.  Email me with a picture or a link to your blog.

Hope to see you tomorrow.

Mixed Bunch Love Notes

Oh my gosh... how I have missed sharing the past couple of days.  I have been busy with clubs, a workshop, and an awesome day Saturday at a My Digital Studio retreat followed by our demo PAWS (play alot with stamps) meeting.  It's so much fun being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator !

Today I would like to share one of the make and takes we did at the PAWS meeting.  I know many of you have already purchased the Mixed Bunch stamp set ( C125537,W125535) and are asking to see more projects using it.  This one is a "bunch" of love notes (3" by 3" cards) using the newest In Colors all "mixed" up.

Cindy Shuster is the demo that designed this make and take.  She was able to take a pack of the assorted In Color card stock, coordinating ink, and brads and come up with dozens of these cute little cards. The coordinating Blossom Punch (125603) makes mass producing these notes quick and easy!

The sentiment on each card is different.  The Fabulous Phrases (120501) stamp set has 30 words that you can use separately or group together.  It's a set I go to often.  On the inside we actually used a business stamp set  for demos but with Stampin' Up! the possibilities for sentiments on the inside are endless! Wouldn't you love to have a bunch of these love notes on hand?  Use them for birthdays, get well, or just I'm thinking of you today.

How many of you have a stash of cards to choose from when you need one? Or do you rush around at the last minute making a card before you walk out the door?  I know...I've been there. :)

Before I leave you today I would like to remind you that the Hoppers are giving away a blog gift on Easter Sunday.  All you need to do is visit each blog and leave a comment to be entered.  We would love for you to play along. Check it out HERE.

And over the next couple of days I will be sharing some of my swaps from the PAWS meeting.  Today's share was made by Anne Arnold and I have to say it was one of my favorites.  She doesn't have a blog right now so I'm sorry that I can't direct you to other samples of her work.

She used the KISS technique with this card.  The two stamps that she kissed together are Inspired by Nature and Weathered.  Sorry to say I don't have the Weathered stamp and it's retired. :(
I'm thinking that maybe the Wonderfully Worn background stamp may create an interesting effect.  Have you tried this technique and do you have another suggestion of a stamp to use with Inspired by Nature?

Remember that Sale-a-bration ends on March 31.  Every $50 you order earns you a free product from the Sale-a-bration catalog.  It's a great time to stock up on products!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

Welcome to the Hoppers Easter Blog Hop!

The Hoppers are back with another fun Blog Hop!  This time it's all about Easter. Hop from blog to blog for some great Easter ideas.  I hope you are ready for loads of inspiration and a chance to win a fantastic prize. All you need to do is visit each blog and leave a comment.  Then on Easter Day - April 8th a random name will be drawn and the winner announced.

The Prize is a Stampin' Up! Pack of Designer Series Paper, a Stamp Set, and a Roll of Ribbon!  So don't miss out - make sure you leave a comment on every blog for a chance to win.  The winner will be contacted by email and their name will be announced on our blogs.  Make sure that information is in your comment.

The project I would like to share with you today is a cute Easter Purse that holds a yummy treat!  I cut a piece of Pool Party card stock 4-1/2" x 8" and scored it at 2-1/2, 3-1/4, 5-3/4, and 6-1/4 inches. The Edgelit Die was placed on the edge with the short fold and the run through the Big Shot.  I used the coordinating Embossing Edgelit for more detail and the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (2-1/2" x 4-1/2") because you all know that's my favorite!  And isn't she the sweetest bunny? You'll find her in the Everybunny Stamp Set.  The coloring was done with the 2012 - 2013 in color ink pads and a blender pen.

I designed this purse because I didn't have a treat holder in my bag of tricks to fit the Russell Stover Caramel Eggs.  Yum...they are one of my favorite Easter Treats!  Who am I trying to kid...I love all chocolate candy and when you add caramel I'm in heaven.  lol

You'll find the links below to help you hop from blog to blog.  After viewing my project - "hop like a bunny" to your next stop for more great Easter ideas.

Tea Shoppe and This Week's Mojo

I almost forgot to share my card for this week's Mojo Monday Challenge and it's already Friday!  I haven't played with the Tea Shoppe stamp set yet and thought this may be the perfect opportunity. The three little tea cups are so sweet.  They actually come with all three on the same stamp but I decided to cut them a part so that I can use them individually.

The designer series paper used in this card is the Twitterepated from the Occasions Mini as is the Tea Shoppe Stamp set.  Remember... you have until the end of this month to order from this catalog.
I also used the Large Sizzlits Die - Paper Doily for the circle in the sketch. After placing the larger of the basic pearls on the banner I couldn't resist adding the tiny ones to the tea cups.  The tea cups and the tag were both popped up with dimensionals.

Sketch challenges are a lot of fun so give it a try.  It's still not to late to enter your card.

Stamp Set: Tea Shoppe: (C125547) (W125545)
Ink:  Island Indigo (122937), Riding Hood Red (111836), Baja Breeze (111833), Basic Black (101179), Old Olive (102277) Blushing Bride 119786)
Card Stock/DSP:  Twitterpated DSP (125406), Riding Hood Red (111348), Whisper White (100730)
Tools/Accessories:  Paper Doily Large Sizzlit Die (125592), Blender Pens (102845), Basic Pearls (119247)

Local customers and anyone that would like to give stamping a try...there are still spots left in Sunday's technique club/class.  We would love to have you join us.  The fee is $15 or FREE with a qualifying order or a commitment to join the club.  First timers - the fee is only $5.  Since it is getting close to class time please give me a call if you would like to join us.

Thanks for stopping by.  Stay just a minute longer and leave me a comment. :)

MoJo Monday Shamrocks

Today I decided to create a card for the MoJo Monday Sketch Challenge. The sketch is below.  You can make a round or square card and I decided on a square St Patrick's Day Card.  I really don't have any stamps for this occasion so I decided to improvise.

A Shamrock is a low growing, clover-like plant, with three-lobed leaves, that are the national emblem of Ireland (looked that up).  And as we all know when you find one with 4 lobes you are in luck!  I remember as a kid our entire front lawn was covered in clover.  Back then I didn't know that wasn't a good thing. :) I remember sitting sometimes for hours on a summer day looking for a four leaf clover and being ecstatic when I found one. Taking it inside so my mother could press it between wax paper so I would always have luck. <3

Today's card features that one lone lucky shamrock among all the rest.  I used the smallest heart on the Heart to Heart Punch to make the lobes and then glued them onto the circle in the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  The stems were made using the small oval punch.

The paper is Lucky Limeade card stock and the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper.  The sentiment is from Friendly Phrases and inside I stamped "Got Green?" from the Got Treats Stamp Set.

Take a look at the sketch, visit the Mojo Monday site for some additional inspiration, and join the challenge!

Have a wonderful evening!

Vintage Flap Card

As promised, here is the swap card I made for my downline meeting.  Right now we are meeting every other month to share and be inspired.  I wanted to work on a vintage looking card  so I went straight for "my favorite" designer series paper.  Everyday Enchantment DSP is a beautifully designed paper with some of the greatest patterns.  If this paper is on your wish list remember it's free when you place a $50 order during Sale-a-bration.  You have until the end of March.

I used a CD to round the flap.  Placed it 1 1/2 inches from the top, traced, and cut by hand.  Lots of sponging with Crumb Cake ink.

When you lift the flap you find yet another coordinating paper.  Did I tell you how much I love this paper. :)  I didn't stamp the inside.  That way my downline and I could stamp the sentiment we wanted when we decide to send the card.

Stamp Set: Fresh Vintage (C125117), (W125115), Loving Thoughts (C125845), (W125843)
Paper: Everyday Enchantment DSP (126154), Lucky Limeade ( 122926), Very Vanilla (101650)
Ink: Chocolate Chip (100908), Crumb Cake (121030)
Accessories: Blossom Punch (125603), Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch (122464), Designer Printed Brads (122940), Big Shot (113439), Stamping Sponges (101610), Dimensionals (104430

I'm having lunch and seeing The Vow today with a very special friend.  I know I'm going to have a wonderful day!  Hope you have a great one too.

The Fashionable Hearts Embosslits

I'm excited!  Some of my downline will be coming over this afternoon to stamp and swap cards.  We always have a lot of fun stamping and sharing. I love the swap card I made and thought about sharing it with you today. Problem is...I'm afraid they may visit my blog before the meeting and it will spoil the surprise.

So today I decided to share this cute clean and simple 3"x3" note card that features the Fashionable Hearts Embosslits.  They are a new product in the Occassions Mini Catalog.  The die, cuts and embosses all at once, when you run it through the Big Shot.  There are six different sizes of hearts each with a different embossing pattern.  They range in size from small to tiny.

This card uses one of the larger hearts with the polka dot embossing pattern.  Each heart was folded in half before being glued in a flower pattern.  Lots of dimension and texture.  A fun little note card to have on hand.

Have a wonderful day and stop back tomorrow to see my swap.  It features the Everyday Enchantment Designer Paper.
