Best of Everything

Today's card is made using the stamp set "Best of Everything".  And that's exactly how I feel about this new set in the 2011-2012 catalog.  It has so many cute elements.
When Stampin' Up! decided to retire Cheep Talk and Happy Together this year I was so sad.  I am a sucker for cute birds.  Not just birds...they have to be "cute" birds.  So when my catty arrived I quickly thumbed through and heaved a sigh of relief when I came to this set.
I love the way this clean and simple card turned out...the design, colors, and the cute flowers using the coordinating brads.  Oh, and I forgot to take a picture of the inside...another "cute" bird stamped inside.
We will be making this card at the local library on Sept.7 as part of a FREE card making class.  Come join me!

HALLOWEEN...SPOOKY

Today I have a Spooky treat for you.  This topper uses Stampin' Up!'s Top Note Die.  It can be used for both the small and medium cello bags.  I just think the witch's feet are so cute.  And who can do Halloween without spider webs...Not me!

The candy kisses are dressed in perfect Halloween colors don't you think? They are the caramel filled and the dark chocolate ones.  The difficult part of this project is to not eat all the treats yourself!  I suggest you buy extra...yummmmm  :)

By the way, this is a project we will be doing in a free class at the Picken's County Library on Wednesday September 7.  If you are local call the library and save yourself a spot.

Tomorrow I will be sharing a cute bird card that we will also be making in this class.
Have a joyful day!

Pennant Parade Ice Cream Cone and Party Hats

It's been a lazy Sunday afternoon around here as my husband's vacation comes to an end.  I thought I would quickly post the additional two cards we made in stamp class last week.  I planned four cards around the Pennant Parade stamp set and the Petite Pennant Punch.  The last post had cards that used the set as an actual pennant and then a Christmas tree.  Today's post uses the set in a birthday ice cream cone and birthday hats.

Isn't the triple decker cone with the cherry on top really cute?

Stamp Sets: Pennant Parade, Sincere Salutations
Card Stock: Tempting Turquoise, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink, Early Espresso, Melon Mambo
Ink: Crump Cake, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: Petite Pennants Builder Punch,Dazzling Details, Very Vanilla 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon

And...it's a pocket card!
Pull the insert out and there's the sentiment.  You could also slip a gift card or some cash in the card if you closed the card on the sides with some glue.

Next is a cute 3X3 gift tag or card.  You could make matching cupcake flags.
What fun!

Stamp Sets: Pennant Parade, Tiny Tags
Card Stock: Real Red, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Petite Pennants Builder Punch, 1/2 " Circle Punch, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Jewelry Tag Punch. Cherry Cobbler/White Baker's Twine, Dimensionals

Pennant Parade Banner and Christmas Tree

At stamp class this week we made 4 cards using the Pennant Parade stamp set and the coordinating punch. I'd like to show you two of them today.

This was at the request of one of my friends (and also customer) who said she thought the pennant set was cute but she just didn't think she would use it much. When I told her there was a lot more you could do with it besides make pennants she asked if I would have a class showing some different ideas.

This first card I showed part of in a previous post.  It's a really cute way to use this stamp set as a pennant.  Everyone loved the colors!  Pool Party (a new In Color) and Early Espresso go together so well.  This card was cased, with some changes, from a convention swap.  I would love to give credit but I'm not sure who designed it.  There either wasn't a card in the envelope or I missed placed it. :(

Stamp Sets: Pennant Parade, Party this Way
Card Stock: Pool Party, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Petite Pennants Builder, 1/2 Circle Punch, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Early Espresso/White Baker's Twine, Early Espresso 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, Glue Dots

The second card was also a big hit.  You can use the pennant as a Christmas tree!  In this card I stamped a forrest of trees and then popped one up so it would stand out as the chosen tree.  It's hard to see in this picture but we used the new Dazzling Details to give sparkle to the tree.  The colors are Cherry Cobbler and Wild Wasabi a fun combination for Christmas.  Some of the ladies purchased their Christmas paper to get a jump on the holidays. Are you thinking about your Holiday cards yet?

Stamp Sets: Pennant Parade, Season of Joy
Card Stock: Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Inks: Cherry Cobbler, Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Petite Pennants Builder, Decorative Label Punch, Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Stamp class is relaxed and a lot of fun.  Next month think about joining us! Click Here to check next month's schedule.  If you order the Pennant Parade stamp set and coordinating punch by Sept 15 I will email you the pdf for the four cards we made in class.

Before leaving you today I wanted to remind you that August is coming to an end and that will also be the end of the Designer Series Paper Promotion...buy 3 Get 1 Free.  Don't miss out!  Buy your holiday paper today.

See you tomorrow with the other two cards.  Have a joyful day!

Red Hat Treat Box

It is so good to be back home!  And to be able to stay for a while.  As soon as we unpacked the car I went right upstairs to my stamp room to make some treat boxes.

I belong to a small Red Hat group and it was my turn to be the hostess yesterday.  I was able to take care of the reservations for the tea room while on vacation but I thought it would be cute to have a favor for each of the girls.  When I say girls it makes me smile because if my father was still with me he would say "you mean girls with the grandmother faces").

I remembered seeing Easter hats online made from the round Stampin" Up accessory boxes and thought why not make something like that in red and purple.  The girls (with the grandmother faces) loved them!  I would take the lid off to show you the treats but they are all gone. :)  Didn't have time to take pictures before I left for tea.

Classes tonight and tomorrow afternoon.  Close to being ready...gotta run.  Have a wonderful day and if you want to do something to brighten your life join a Red Hat group or come stamp with me!

My Digital Studio - The Big Green Egg

A view of the condos and the beautiful white sand beach where we've been staying in Navarre Beach Fl.  So thankful for this time of relaxation with the family.  I promised no ink and I kept my promise.  :)

I actually prefer the pool over the ocean.  Yes...it is because I'm a big baby when it comes to having fish and crabs swim between my legs and around my feet.  The water is so beautiful and clear here that you can see every creature as it swims by.

I promised no ink but I never promised no My Digital Studio!  So I made a quick page  today and the family thought I was just checking my email.  :)

My husband's Christmas present this year was a Big Green Egg and he really enjoys cooking on it.  I love it too!  Keeps me out of the kitchen except for making some side dishes.  I am thinking that I may make him a Big Green Egg Album/Recipe book.  It might make a nice Christmas present.

What I am loving about this program is that I can download what I need 24/7 and I don't have to wait for it to ship.  The prices are reasonable and nothing ever retires.  And...you can take it on vacation!  If you would like to demo My Digital Studio and see it's amazing features let's get together.

Have a wonderful day!

More Projects Using Stampin' Up!'s DSP

First full day at the beach and I am loving every relaxing minute.  We are staying in a gorgeous condo in Navarre Beach...it's advertised as Florida's best kept secret.  It's a quiet area with a beautiful beach.

I was hoping to bring some SU things to work on a project or two but there just wasn't time to decide and gather things up before we left.  I did bring my computer so it may be a good time to play in My Digital Studio.

I thought today I would share some additional convention projects using this month's promotion - Designer Series Paper.

This first card is a Christmas present and when you lift the lid the greeting appears.  The DSP used is "Letters to Santa" 122349

These cute popcorn boxes use "Big Top Birthday" DSP 122348
I think this would be a fun idea for a family movie night.

This scrap book page uses "Paisley Petals" DSP 122367.  This is one of my favorites.

Thank you for stopping by.

Reminder...Designer Series Paper Promotion

This past week I took a trip to South Bend Indiana.  My son, a graduate student at Notre Dame, decided it was time to move from graduate housing to an apartment in Mishawaka.  Being an older student he decided he is past the age of wanting a roommate.  And I can't blame him.

I naively thought I would be able to post during the week.  With no internet at the apartment and all the work of moving him it never became a reality.  Did I mention he is living on the second floor!  :)

After a thirteen hour drive I arrived home at 2:30 am and crashed!  Now I am doing all the laundry so my husband an I can head out tomorrow for a week vacation.  I hope it will be relaxing.  I need it to be.

I wanted to remind everyone that the current DSP promotion, BUY 3 GET 1 FREE runs until the end of the month. Below you will find convention swaps and projects showing some of Stampin's Up!'s beautiful Designer Series Paper.  Don't miss out!

My Digital Studio Cards

If you have been thinking that you would like to get into card making and scrap booking put don't feel you have the time you might want to try digital.  My Digital Studio is a Stampin' Up! software program that can be used for both digital and hybrid projects.  In comparing it to other digital programs I find it much more user friendly and I love the fact that you can use both templates or compose the entire project from scratch.  This allows you to put a project together very quickly or spend more time being creative.  The choice is yours.

Why am I impressed with how user friendly it is?  I created both of these cards with very little training or time spent learning the program on my own.  They were also both created without using a template.  Just think what I will be able to do when I utilize all the training videos on our MDS website. :)

The exciting thing is that both cards can become a hybrid project by adding real brads, ribbon, or cutting out the butterfly in the top example and popping it up with a dimensional.  The possibilities are endless.

Projects done with this program can be printed on your home printer or sent to our professional print service.  Whatever you decide I'm sure you will be pleased with the results.

If you would like to spend one on one time with me to demo My Digital Studio or any other product please contact me to set up a time.

Have a wonderful day!

PAWS Meeting

Last Saturday I attended our PAWS meeting.  PAWS stands for Play Alot With Stamps in case you were wondering..  It's Monika Davis' downline meeting.  We get together every other month to share ideas, swap cards and do make and takes.  Oh, and let's not forget...nibble on snacks and have a lot of FUN!

Joyce's make and take used a technique you should try if you haven't already.  Instead of using the punched piece from the ornament punch we used the left over piece as a stencil.  Hope that makes sense.   The stamp set is one of the New Hostess sets.  It is a two-step stamp set called Simply Soft.
Wow!  Try to say that 3 times fast.  :)

This next one uses one of my favorite sets from the Summer Mini Catalog.  I love that I purchased a stamp set with beautiful images and at the same time donated to Breast Cancer Research.
Stampin' Up! donates $2 for every set sold to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Monika had us make a booklet that will come in handy as a demonstrator.  It has all the information I usually have to look all over the SU site to find.  How wonderful is that?
We used the grow stamp we could purchase in Memento Mall at the convention.

And a stamp from "Just Believe" with the SU "Statement of the Heart".

Cindy had a cute project for us.  A little box that everyone said looks a lot like a Tiffany box.  Sorry to say I wouldn't know since I have never received a gift from Tiffany's.  I went on line to check it out and I think this is way cuter then that!

We used the set "Best Friends Forever".  Again one of my favorites.

Remember you can shop on line 24/7 and have any one or all of these beautiful stamp sets.
Thank you for stopping by.

Surprises in the Mail Make Me Smile

This weekend I received  two cards in the mail that I thought I would share with you.  The first one is a digital card created in Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio.

I was surprised to find that it was a birthday card from Stampin' Up! with a birthday discount.  Since I have so many items on my wish list this will really come in handy.  Thank you Stampin' Up!

I love how easy it is to turn a digital card into a hybrid card.  SU did this by adding some rhinestones.
You could take this further by cutting out several of the scallop circles and popping them up with dimensionals.  If you would like to learn more about My Digital Studio please contact me.

This next card was sent to me by Kellyjean one of my roomies at the convention.  The stamp set and punch in this card was one of the Prize Patrol gifts and she won!  I asked her last week how she liked the  set and she said she thought it was going to be one of the favorites in the Holiday Mini.  Can you hardly wait to get this mini?  I think the card is so cute and Kellyjean is so sweet to think of me.

This last card is actually one created with a retired stamp set.  I wanted to share it with you because of the sweet story behind it.  One of the demonstrators at convention had made cards that she was asking others to send to her son.  He is serving our country overseas and his birthday is this month.  Just think what a smile it will bring to his face to receive so many cards but better yet for him to know that his sweet mother orchestrated the whole thing.

It makes you want to go and do something kind and thoughtful for a friend or family member.  I think I'm going to do just that...how about you?
